Korean TV Drama Websites
- Drama Cool 9
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 4.5
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Many shows from different Asian countries (i.e. Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, etc.); No interrupting ads within video; Fast uploading of recent episodes and subtitles; Easy navigation (search by genre, release year, country, status, and alphabetically)
- Cons: Occasional slow streaming; May have pop up ads or ads on the side
- Closing Remarks: I use this site for watching dramas/ variety shows because it seems very up to date with the recent episodes of many variety shows and dramas. Be sure to have adblocker as a Google Chrome extension in order to avoid any unnecessary advertisements on the side. They also list whether they are subbed or raw (no subtitles).
- On Demand Korea
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 3.5
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Fast streaming; Different Korean shows (Dramas, movies, variety shows, documentaries, sports, kids, etc.); Fast uploading of recent episodes and subtitles
- Cons: Many video ads; Premium member benefits (no ads, access to certain dramas); Korean shows only
- Closing Remarks: This site updates recent Korean shows within 24 hours of the actual airtime in Korea as the title suggests (ondemandkorea). This is a very good site with pretty fast streaming, so I recommend this if you don’t mind the occasional video ads which can be 3 to 5 different ads at once. If you are considering buying the subscription, visit here
- Kiss Asian
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 3.5
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Fast uploading of recent episodes and their subtitles; Dramas, movies, cartoons, anime, etc. from different regions (Korea, China, Thailand, etc.); Easy navigation (by genre, region, status, alphabetical, latest updates) No video ads
- Cons: Many popup ads; No ads with premium subscription
- Closing Remarks: Use ad blocker to browse through the different kinds of shows, but it will prompt you to turn it off when you start watching. Because of the many pop up ads (be prepared to “X” them out), it gets annoying watching videos on this site. Regardless, I sometimes do use this site because it has almost all of the dramas and other TV shows that I’m looking for (and they’re up to date)
- Drama Go (No longer available)
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 3.5
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Dramas, movies, anime, variety shows, etc from different regions (Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, etc.); Easy navigation (by genre, region, alphabetical); Lists daily releases
- Cons: Occasional slow streaming; Slower release time of ongoing TV shows (missing recent episodes)
- Closing Remarks: This site is almost the exact same thing as gooddrama.net (see above).
- VIKI
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 3.0
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Fast streaming; Dramas and movies from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China; Fast uploading of recent episodes and subtitles (different languages are available); Easy navigation (search by genre, region, subtitles, and status)
- Cons: Many video ads; Premium member benefits (no ads, access to certain dramas)
- Closing Remarks: This site is a pretty good site with fast streaming, so I recommend this if you don’t mind the occasional video ads which can be 3 to 5 different ads at once. If you are considering buying the subscription, visit here
- Drama Fire
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 3.0
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Shows from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and Korea; Fast streaming time; Korean variety shows
- Cons: Missing updates of ongoing dramas/variety shows; Pop up ads; Difficult navigation (no genre lists, status, etc.)
- Closing Remarks: This site has a very simple layout, and I would use this if you aren’t exactly keeping up to date with dramas and other TV series. However, because it is pretty hard to navigate through, I personally would not use this.
- Asian Crush
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 3.0
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Dramas & movies from differenct Asian regions (Korea, Vietnam, China, etc.); Easy navigation of movies (by genre); Blog Community; No ads (with adblocker)
- Cons: Difficult navigation of dramas; no variety shows; not up to date with recent dramas/movies
- Closing Remarks: This site is more for those who are looking for something new to watch that fits your interests, and are open to dramas and movies from different regions; make sure you have ad blocker for this site so that you can watch the shows without video ads.
- My Drama List
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 2.0
- Subtitles: N/A
- Pros: Blog community; TV show descriptions/ratings and trailers; no ads
- Cons: Very limited variety of shows
- Closing Remarks: If you’re looking for something new to watch, I would suggest using this site because it provides good in-depth descriptions of many many dramas and TV shows, but don’t expect to watch anything on this website. I would also use this as a community database if you are intereted in blogs and news in the entertainment world.
- KOCOWA
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 2.0
- Subtitles: Yes
- Pros: Fast uploading of recent episodes and subtitles
- Cons: Premium member benefits (no ads, access to certain dramas); need to sign up to watch almost all shows; Korean shows only
- Closing Remarks: I personally would not use this website for watching TV shows because you have to sign up in order to watch anything. I never used this site because it was very slow in navigating from page to page. However, this is a site that is up to date and is an official site for dramas and other shows. If you are interested in the premium option, visit here
- Han Cinema
- Overall Review (1-5 stars): 2.0
- Subtitles: N/A
- Pros: Lists of Korean dramas by release year, status, etc.
- Cons: No variety show lists; No videos on website (only a database)
- Closing Remarks: This site is only a database, so though it has episodes listed under many dramas, it does not have any videos of its own. Instead, it would lead you to other streaming sites such as viki or kocowa (refer to above for individual ratings). I personally do not use this site.
